What is upside-down living?
Upside-down living is your life if you are putting your material world BEFORE the awareness and integration of Pure Consciousness. That is, unconditionally loving yourself before placing your focus on others and your outside world.
It’s like putting the cart before the horse – although the horse could essentially be trained to push the cart to accomplish your needs and wants, it’s a lot more difficult and challenging not to mention ridiculous, right!
Who would do that? We’ll, in truth, haven’t we all before we became aware of how challenging this is and found ourselves saying through the exhaustion: “There’s got to be a better way!”
My friend, aren’t you tired of pushing your cart because you didn’t realize there’s another way? I mean, aren’t you just plain worn out from this seemingly constant uphill push in life? You’ve come to realize there’s more push than release, the proverbial roller-coaster ride of ups and downs.
So, what’s the other way, you might ask?
It’s turning your perspective (which, means you’re changing your mind) to look at your life from a different vantage point than you ever have before. It’s coming to realize the pain you’ve been suffering is a result of walking through your life upside-down on your head. Now, you already know what that means.
So, let’s look at walking upside-right living (URL).
This is living with a corrected perspective of what’s truly important as compared to what’s not really as important.
For example, if you’ve been making decisions in your life based on a fear of some kind, that’s upside-down living (UDL). You’ve essentially put your fears before your faith that you are wholly safe and protected by Divine forces that you cannot likely see with your eyes but you can feel and sense, if given half a chance.
There’s a whole slew of various reasons why we fear what we fear and that which is not the scope of today’s writings. In fact, perceived fear is what got us into this mess (the illusion we call life) in the first place. But, again, this is not what this post is about. Moving on. ☺️
What I would want you to understand is that while you continue to place your focus, attention and obsession on “the good life” as it refers to ‘getting’ what you can get from life, this is not only UDL but ego-based desires. All fear-based thoughts and actions we have and take, respectively, are a result of an ego need.
These ego needs keep us imprisoned to acquiring more and more, not unlike an addiction. We need more money, for example, we want more sex even if we have to use (and hurt) others to get more, we need more notoriety, we want fame and more fortune.
Believe it or not, these ego-driven behaviors for more is really and truly a cry for freedom. Isn’t that eye-opening, right.
So, that’s what UDL is. We strive to acquire more hoping and thinking that somehow more of the material offerings will give us the freedom we’re truly seeking. In truth, however, focus on the material world has the absolute opposite effect.
Think about it. When you have more you need to protect and secure it and then there are the negative consequences of having more. Even when it comes to seeking sex. How many people get hurt through these escapades of ours, and what kind of negative Karma are we acquiring, as a result? What about unwanted pregnancies? What about broken marriages? What about STD’s? What about deadly viruses, etc.? You get the picture.
When you’re focused on ‘getting’ as opposed to ‘receiving’, you stand painfully on your head. It won’t be until you open up to receiving your Divine blessings (that have been holed-up in Divine storage waiting for you to realize you have a very real God-given inheritance) that you will FINALLY walk upside-right.
Upside-right living is walking correctly on your feet as you were meant to be having a perception that Love is the most important thought, feeling and action to put FIRST in this life. When you put Love first, all else flows towards you without effort. ALL that you want and dream about comes to you.
You may have to go and get it but, it’s yours for the asking. You can’t expect people with FREEWILL, for example, to come towards you without your effort, first. Especially if you’ve hurt them in some way.
But, when Love and compassion fills your heart, first (and FINALLY!), you stand in a much better position to manifest positive outcomes with them.
Have you been focused on money and more money? Have you been making decisions in your life because you somehow mistook money and love to mean the same thing? Have you chosen wealth over true Love? Is your money keeping you warm, safe, nurtured, adored by those in your life, and secure? Do you stress at night when you should be sleeping or do you sleep peacefully like a baby?
Are you feeling fulfilled or stagnant? Does life hold optimism, curiosity and excitement for you that lasts? Is your mind at peace or racing? Do you have some pretty serious regrets or are you quite content and wholly satisfied with what you’re experiencing as a result of your decisions in life? Do you feel like you’re living authentically and within your integrity or a lie realizing that you somehow went West instead of North somewhere along the way?
If you can answer ‘Yes’ to any of the aforementioned questions that obviously reflect negative experiences, then you know you’ve been putting the cart before the horse in your life. You’ve been pushing against your peace instead of embracing it. You’ve been living upside-down.
If you’re into Tarot (a Divination Tool for people who seek Divine Guidance), as I enjoy through my own curiosity and sense of spontaneity, you can quite easily see how the Tarot, through ‘UPRIGHT’ and ‘REVERSE’ depictions, reflects both URL and UDL, respectively.
I attached the photo of ‘THE EMPEROR’ to this post to show you what I mean, if you’re not familiar with Tarot. Each card’s energy can be read by the reader either UPRIGHT or in REVERSE.
The EMPEROR and the EMPRESS are counterpart energies within Tarot (they complete each other) that reflect life in that if you have managed to overcome all the experiences that brought challenging life lessons as a result of UDL, you have grown and become the best that you can be in this life. In Tarot, it means that you have ascended to a higher frequency of perspective – you’ve grown, spiritually – allowing yourself to become your BEST and HIGHEST You in your life. The You that you have become is the energy of an EMPEROR (masculine) or EMPRESS (feminine), where if you associate with being a masculine person/energy, you may have balanced your masculine energy with an appropriate blend of feminine energy; this is ideal.
To sit in an EMPEROR or EMPRESS energy as it pertains to Tarot, you have figured out how to live upside-right – putting LOVE (for self and others) above anything else. You’ve battled in life and had some pretty hard wins and losses that bit you hard where it really hurt (it may be in your pocket-book, romantic relationship, career or health). But, each battle (Karma) served as a stepping stone to enlightenment – an opportunity to see the folly of your ways.
This awareness of how you’ve been living your life and, although you may have gained much, as a result, will also make you see that you’re losing out in some way. You may be attached to a person who you now realize is not your true Love, for example.
You wake up one day and see all the blessings you have all around you but yet you’re feeling lonely and unfulfilled. This is the result of UDL.
Waking up to this immediately begins turning you (your perspective) upside-right in your life. You’ve opened the door to become a ‘RECEIVER’ rather than a ‘getter/taker’.
Now there’s more work to be done! Just because you’ve become an EMPEROR or EMPRESS, you can’t keep living your lie; it will eat at you more and more the longer you remain in it.
Your freedom only comes when you take charge and control of your EMPEROR energy and do what’s needed to be done to correct your follies as best as you can.
You must … otherwise, KARMA will continue to beat the hell out of you and haven’t you already been beaten up by life?
Don’t you want true Love in your life? Or, are you okay with settling and taking the hits?
Don’t you want to be truly happy and fulfilled loving and living your daily life with people you would choose time and again to be in it with you?
Are you going to step into your EMPEROR/EMPRESS energy and live your life from here on out with Love filling your heart and overflowing out into your worldly environment?
Or, will you continue to sacrifice your happiness to please others and resenting the regrets you have for not making better choices?
Will it be upside-right Emperor/Empress or the Reverse?
